about work groups

We work in groups to complete important tasks. Our members collaborate with each other, bringing wisdom, skills, and accountability to the organization.

We hope you’re interested in working with us. Please sign up for a work group. Your Executive Committee liaison will be in touch to schedule meetings and tasks.

Administrative/Professional Faculty & Staff

The purpose of this group is to work on issues important to AP Faculty and Staff. Issues include retention, pay equity, professional development, and grievance processes. The group worked on an exit survey, development trainings, and an accountability scorecard.

Community Outreach

This group works closely to engage our external community for support, to foster community connections, to provide each other with resources, and to serve in whatever capacity the community needs. Some activities have included panel discussions, staff recognition, COVID-19 food and supplies drop-offs at low-income housing communities, Black Books drive, Elementary Schools support, and building library resource centers for community children.

Building Bridges

Thank you so much for coming and sharing the books with my class.  Going to the book fair today was comparable to Christmas morning.  They all picked a book that matched their personality/interests. They were all so excited, this was truly a blessing to our students. Thank you for doing this for our students. It is a memory that I will not soon forget.

A Strong Support System

I wasn’t getting what I needed in my department. Thankfully I didn’t have to go through it alone. It meant a lot to me.
